Application of Foreign Ecolabels

In order to develop their foreign market, many domestic manufacturers are interested in applying for foreign ecolabels. Through its MRAs with other GEN members, EDF is able to offer assistance in such applications through cooperation with the other GEN member ecolabeling organizations.

Scope
EDF currently has MRAs in place with the ISO Type I ecolabelling programs in Canada, U.S., New Zealand, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Ukraine, Czech Republic, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Isreal, Australia, China (CEC and CQC), Nordic Swan and Sweden(SSNC) through the GEN Peer Review System (GENICES). Furthermore, the application of EU’s Flower Label can be handled through the Czech Republic program.

Based on the contents of various MRAs, EDF may offer the following assistance:

  • Analyze the criteria contents, requirements, and process of applying for foreign ecolabels
  • Verify and confirm the contents of application documentation and test reports
  • Conduct on-site audit in Taiwan and China, and prepare audit report for submission to foreign eco-labeling organization

Projects
EDF has provided assistance and successfully helped many several domestic manufacturers in acquiring ecolabels in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the Czech Republic, EU, Japan and South Korea.
