Background
The Environment and Development Foundation (EDF) was established in 1997 as a non-profit environmental organization through a start-up endowment and technology transfer from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). The current Chairperson of the Board is Dr. Chih-Shiu Shen, Administrative Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment (MOENV).
EDF is led by a distinguished team of environmental scientists, engineering professionals, and seasoned administrative specialists. Upholding the core values of "Professionalism, Service, Innovation, and Neutrality," EDF works in close partnership with government authorities, research institutions, international labeling organizations, and industry leaders.
Leveraging solid technical expertise and continuous innovation, EDF plays a pivotal role in advancing Taiwan’s green transition. Our core mission encompasses eco-labeling and green product certification, carbon and water footprint verification, corporate ESG consultation, industrial water recycling, and organic waste-to-energy technologies. Furthermore, EDF serves as the designated national contact window for international ecolabel partnerships, bridging Taiwan's industrial supply chain with global sustainable trade.
